The ICRC is an impartial, neutral and independent organization that helps people around the world affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. It takes action in response to emergencies and at the same time promotes respect for international humanitarian law, and champions universal humanitarian principles.
Activities:
The ICRC’s actions are aimed at protecting the lives, health and dignity of people affected by violence. In doing so, the ICRC takes a holistic, integrated approach in which three distinct areas of action are closely intertwined: protection, assistance and promotion of international humanitarian law.
