The International Humanitarian City (IHC) hosted and participated in the Advisory Board Meeting for the Annual Conference on Partnership and Information Sharing for Better Humanitarian Action, in coordination with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of the Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) at its premises in Dubai on Sunday.
Members board and participants of the meeting chaired by IHC CEO Shaima Al Zarooni and Head of OCHA Gulf Office Saeed Hersi included senior members of various regional organizations such as the League of Arab States, the Organization of Islamic Conference, Royal Charity Organization, and International Islamic Charitable Organization, in addition to the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development and the Medad International Center for Research and Studies.
With the next Annual Conference on Partnership and Information Sharing for Better Humanitarian Action approaching in October this year, the advisory board members re-visited key messages of the previously conducted workshop in which humanitarian expertise exchanged ideas and proposals to address the region’s most critical humanitarian issues. The meeting concluded with key decisions on main topics to be explored as well as list of speakers, theme and logistics of the upcoming conference.
The quarterly held meeting supports in the design and implementation of the Kuwait Conference, as the advisory board members strengthen communication bridges with humanitarian actors in the region and facilitate a joint response to global humanitarian emergencies with the aim of strengthening partnerships among humanitarian actors in the Arab World.
