Dubai Humanitarian (formerly known as International Humanitarian City) participated in the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD) from the 23rd to the 25th of April 2024, held at Dubai World Trade Center.
Dubai Humanitarian, in a momentous occasion, unveiled its new identity at DIHAD, seizing the opportunity to reiterate its vision, mission, and purpose.
- Vision: The pioneering global humanitarian hub.
- Mission: Our mission is to lead an intergovernmental global network of humanitarian hubs in preparedness and response to world crises while proactively collaborating using innovation, communication, and actionable knowledge to save lives. We support the global humanitarian network, connecting with governments and global partners to maximize our collective impact in sustainable humanitarianism.
- Purpose: Dubai Humanitarian has an unwavering commitment to positively impact humanity and uphold human dignity. We enable the global humanitarian community, through innovation, collaboration, and connection, to build a more sustainable future for all people.
On its stand, Dubai Humanitarian acknowledged the achievements of over twenty years, paving the way for more sustainable and efficient humanitarian action. It dedicated an area for the Humanitarian Logistics Databank, which gives an overview of relief stocks prepositioning, movement, and flow. The Databank currently covers the humanitarian hubs of Brindisi and Panama, with a plan to include all other humanitarian hubs and integrate them with other existing platforms for a Global Safety Net.
Two new partnerships were announced: an agreement with Noqodi and a Memorandum of Understanding with Heriot-Watt University.
The collaboration between Noqodi and Dubai Humanitarian aims to enhance payment solutions that will efficiently impact community support and ease its evolution. Noqodi fosters a seamless journey towards a paperless, community-centric environment to promote the scalability of sustainability practices, facilitating faster, easier, and more secure digital transactions.
Dubai Humanitarian and Heriot-Watt University Dubai intend to jointly promote and implement cooperation related to capacity building, knowledge sharing, and the use of innovative sustainable solutions in the humanitarian sector. This cooperation includes activities such as internship and training opportunities, knowledge sharing, educational trips, joint research, and collaborative projects.
Dubai Humanitarian, true to its collaborative spirit, also provided a platform for its members to enhance their visibility and outreach, further strengthening the community’s network.
