Under the patronage of Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the 15th edition of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD) took place on 5, 6 and 7 of March 2018. It was opened by UN Messenger of Peace and Chairperson of International Humanitarian City HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The International Humanitarian City was present at DIHAD and displayed its information-exchange platform, the Humanitarian Logistics Databank.
In the margins of the conference and exhibition, IHC CEO, Giuseppe Saba spoke to Khaleej Times. “During emergencies, governments and relief agencies would call up different countries to ask for help and state the type of stock they need. The process used to take a long time. But now with the data bank, governments will have immediate access to the type of stock available in different countries,” Saba said.
