The International Humanitarian City (IHC) Participated in the “Third Annual Conference on Effective Partnership and Information Management for Better Humanitarian Work” , which concluded its two days sessions on the 13th of September 2012 in Kuwait, this conference was organized by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in collaboration with the International Islamic Charitable Organization and Direct Aid Organization with the participation of international and regional organizations specialized in the humanitarian work.
HE Shaima Al Zarooni, the Chief Executive Officer of the IHC and a member of the Conference Steering Committee said: “With the current conditions and many humanitarian crises taking place in the Arab and Islamic countries, we should unify our efforts and surge the coordination between the humanitarian organizations to face the upcoming humanitarian crises. This conference provided us with a comprehensive platform to have a better dialogue and debate between various humanitarian organizations interested in working with governmental and non-governmental organizations in order to exchange information and build partnerships to improve the effectiveness of humanitarian aid provided to the beneficiaries”.
She added, the conference emphasizes on the importance of cooperation and positive partnership between the various humanitarian organizations of the Arab governmental and non-governmental organizations and standardize the humanitarian work and unify the operational mechanisms to be more effective and overcome the constraints of the humanitarian work and international aid efforts.
She explained that launching the “Arab Humanitarian Portal” on http://www.arabhum.net for the first time provides accurate information and official reports on the work of the Arab organizations and a mutual platform for dialogue to highlight the great efforts of the Arab and Islamic organizations in the humanitarian field.
