The International Humanitarian City in Dubai (IHC) welcomed at its warehouses, His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Shahid, President of the General Assembly of United Nations, in his first overseas visit since assuming the role of the world body’s 193-national assembly.
United Nations Resident Coordinator for the UAE, the Commissioner General for UN for Expo 2020, and IHC members representatives from WFP, UNHRD, UNHCR, WHO, UNICEF and ICRC attended the meeting.
Mr Giuseppe Saba, IHC CEO, welcomed the UN President and gave an overview presentation of IHC role in various humanitarian projects, shedding light on the humanitarian community’s response in general and COVID-19 in specific. IHC members highlighted their role and humanitarian activities from Dubai.
This was followed by a tour to the IHC display showroom, presenting the Humanitarian Logistics Databank as an important logistics tool, and various relief aid items stored by IHC members.
